Chief Distribution Officer

As one of the fastest-growing insurtech companies valued at over $2.7 billion with a mission to protect the next million families, Ethos is expanding its market reach through insurance distributors, intermediaries and strategic partnerships. To lead this expansion forward, Ethos is seeking a Chief Distribution Officer to oversee its third-party distribution go-to-market strategy and execution.

Ethos is seeking an industry leader with a strong understanding of insurance distribution channels, including contractual agreements, compensation models, technology vendors and integration requirements, marketing and sales strategies. The industry leader will have an established and deep network with owners, principals and executives at some of the industry’s largest and most well-respected organizations, firms and agencies. This highly credible industry executive will have a history of building win-win partnerships with insurance distributors. This role is strategic and tactical, requiring a willingness to dive into the weeds and hustle to deliver for their distribution partners, customers and Ethos teammates. 

Position Overview



Responsibilities
  • Identify and acquire new business partnerships across traditional insurance distribution channels 
  • Lead post-deal partner management for high value clients
  • Establish thought leadership and help build a trusted brand
  • Roll up your sleeves and execute in ambiguous environments
  • Be proactive. This role will require the ability to think on your feet and hustle through fire drill situations
  • Be the voice of the customer to internal stakeholders – translate their needs and advocate on their behalf.

 

Qualifications
  • 15+ years of professional experience with the majority of that coming in insurance distribution
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify and provide comprehensive solutions for varying partner needs
  • Willingness to hustle and get in the weeds with our highest value partners.
  • Elite understanding of traditional insurance channel sales
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous team environment
